Supporting Zab’s Place & Friendship Circle — Organizations That Changed Our Lives

As many of you know, our daughter Courtney has been navigating medical and developmental challenges since she was just two years old. She has grown into the most beautiful, determined, and resilient young woman — and all she ever wanted was the chance to work and be independent.

When we moved to North Carolina, we quickly learned how limited the resources are for individuals with special needs — including a 10-year waiting list for state support. But then we found Zab’s Place, and everything changed.

Zab’s Place and their partner organization, Friendship Circle, welcomed Courtney with open arms.

✨ They gave her meaningful job training.

✨ They supported her in ways that honored her abilities.

✨ And they helped her achieve her dream of employment — staying by her side until she could do everything 100% independently.

Because of their support, Courtney has now been thriving at the same job for almost two years. This is a huge milestone for her, and it wouldn’t have been possible without these incredible organizations.

These programs aren’t funded by the government — they rely entirely on donations from people who believe in creating opportunities for young adults with special needs.

This year, as part of their annual walk, our family set a goal of $300 to give back to the place that gave Courtney her confidence, her skills, and her independence.
